What is wrong with the world?

There’s only one problem in the universe, and that’s identification. As soon as you identify with anything, you must then protect that claim with your life force. You assert that you are right, and then other people must be wrong. You assert that some positions are right, and then other positions must be wrong. You assert that some situations are right, and then other situations must be wrong.

The primary lie is that you must create a concept of yourself. Not only that, but then you must take that concept to be yourself. You must identify as that concept.

Beliefs are but smaller levels of identification. You invest a little bit of your life force in an idea. You assert that some concepts are right, are true. You assert that some concepts make up who you are. And some concepts support other concepts.

You end up with a complex, a tangled web of lies that’s supposed to tell you who you are. And you refer to this morass of identifications whenever you think about yourself, consider yourself and what you like, and whenever you go to make decisions.

It turns out that identification is completely optional. This is the game that we’re playing. This is the great experiment. You are completely free to identify, and make your self from whatever images you would like, and then pretend that this is real and true. You are the little god in your little universe. You are a self-made person.

In short, you are free to fall asleep and dream a dream about yourself. Some people have better dreams. Some people have worse dreams. You can make your dream better. Or, you can wake up from the dream altogether.

Waking up has only to do with letting go of your identifications, letting go of who you take yourself to be, letting go of everything that keeps you attached to any sense of self that isn’t actually you. Anything that anchors you in a false idea of yourself is a place where you have chosen to be asleep.

And how does one wake up? Only by pure intention. Turn toward waking up. Then, do whatever you’re drawn to do. Get the help you need. Consult with the guidance that you’re drawn to. Follow what resonates with your quiet self. Follow your heart, your soul, your innate wisdom. You are your own answer, whether you remember it or not.

Invite vulnerability. Your jumble of ideas about yourself and others and everything speaks the loudest. Listen for the quiet voice that never changes.

Invite receptivity. The still voice seeks opportunities to knock on your door.

Invite trust. It can’t not work. This is who you are.
